100k in 30 Days raises €1.2 million for Breast Cancer Ireland
Aisling Hurley, CEO of Breast Cancer Ireland says Thank You to Louth power couple, Niall Carroll and Cara McAdam who, together with their families and local community, raised a phenomenal €1.2 million for Breast Cancer Ireland through their 100km in 30 Days challenge that took place in June 2020. What a truly amazing achievement!
This initiative, which captured hearts in every county in Ireland and in over 34 countries worldwide, saw over 15,000 people run, walk and wheel over 1,000,000 kilometres and raise over 1.2 million euros.
The funds raised will support continuous investment in research, vital in helping to speed up discovery and uncover new targeted therapies that will affect better treatment outcomes for patients.
It will fund new fellowships allowing teams to work on specific research programmes to deliver maximum results.
It will help purchase state-of the-art, 3-D imaging mammography equipment at the new state of the art Breast Cancer Research Centre at Beaumont hospital which will open its doors in October 2021.
We are humbled by the generosity and support of so many.
