Aisling Hurley has over 35 years of experience in the non-profit sector. Having established BCI in 2012, BCI has raised over €27 M from the public both from individual and corporate support. Aisling and her team need “time” to continue raising funds to invest in research and clinical trials so that they can change the landscape positively for patients into the future.

Aisling Hurley has over 35 years of experience in the non-profit sector, having started out at the University of Limerick, assisting with the creation of the University of Limerick Foundation, and moving on then to become a Consultant with CCS Ireland Limited, a fundraising consultancy, where she worked on a variety of projects for the Arts, Cultural, Overseas and Education sectors.
Aisling joined the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2005 as their Director of Development. During her tenure, Aisling raised over €20 million as part of the College Development Campaign.
In 2012, following discussions with RCSI and the need for a separate legal entity to be established, Aisling, together with Prof Arnie Hill, leading breast surgeon, established Breast Cancer Ireland, securing its charitable status (CHY 19926), developing its board and codes of practice.
Since 2020 in line with the Charities Institute Ireland, Breast Cancer Ireland has successfully secured the Triple lock award for excellence in governance, compliance & accounting. With over 9000 registered charities in Ireland, BCI is just one of 72 awarded this acumen annually.
Since its inception in 2012, BCI has raised over €25 M from the public both from individual and corporate support. Aisling has been awarded many industry accolades as she continues to lead the development and expansion of Breast Cancer Ireland.
Aislings aim is to transform breast cancer from often being a fatal disease into a treatable long-term illness.
