Magnetising tumour molecules - a possible path to better treatment
As reported in Silicon Republic, magnetic molecule technology lets us see breast tumours ‘breathe’ in real-time. Researchers have developed a new scan that magnetises molecules to allow doctors see which regions of a breast tumour are active.
“This is one of the most detailed pictures of the metabolism of a patient’s breast cancer that we’ve ever been able to achieve,” states Professor Kevin Bindle, lead researcher from the Cancer Research UK, Cambridge Institute. This is hopefully another step towards more personalised treatment.
